Trip to North Malabar
Hi,
From Bangalore you can reach the heart of North malabar ie Kannur by many routes. If you consider the shortest it is Mysore,Hunsur,Kutta, Iritty,Kannur. The stretch of road from virajpet to irrytty is pretty bad. Please do not risk driving down by your 4 wheeler. Heard that from Mar 08 onwards the road will be closed for repair, I pray that happens.
You can reach Kannur via the HD kote, Bavali manthody route also.
kannur is know as city of floklores and handlooms. The city has very nice beaches and a fort. about 20 kms north is the famous Parassin muthappan temple and the snake park.
You drive further 7 kms north thru NH17 you will reacch Taliparambu the town famous for Sri rajarajeswara temple.
Take Payynur route and from there to Panathur and Bagamandala, talacauvery. Cutting Mercara you can reach back to Bangalore.
Total km via Irrity will be 800km round.
You need atleast 3 days for this trip.
Remember to visit : Non veg hotels at Kannur, a thattu kada near Irrity bridge.

Hi,
Bangalore and around is gaining importance for thier weekend trips.
It is fun to take break from routine and a take a drive on the weekend morning to nearby places around bangalore.
